Problem:

I’m a left handed trackball user, but I’d like a mouse wheel and middle button. The cool ones are all right handed. I’ve been using the Logitech Trackman model for probably 15 years or more.

Solution:

I built a cradle for the trackball the holds the mouse in place and adds a row of buttons and an encoder next to the mouse.

Hardware:

For the scaffolding of the mouse cradle, I just used L-shaped wall stripping from home depot.

The final setup worked but was obviously not very comfortable.

The electronics hardware consisted of the following:

• Rotary encoder with RGB LED built-in.
• Two arcade buttons with leds built-in.
• Arduino Pro Mini
• Perf board
• 5 330k Resistors for the LED’s
